Dublin – the capital of the European Poker 2009

For the second consecutive year, Dublin was voted the European Capital of poker in 2009 by the readers of Bluff Europe Magazine.

The city of Dublin has received this title because of the gambling passion of Dubliners and variety of poker clubs. The magazine said they had deliberately ignored the countries where the governments approve the state monopolies on gambling. The magazine sought to reward the variety, value, excitement and action.

London won second place and the town was also commended for its sites, and tournaments for the growth of poker clubs in the past two years.

Philip Connelles, editor of Bluff Europe Magazine said: “There was always a competition between Dublin and London, but this year is Ireland who won the title again simply because we are always impressed by the enthusiasm that we encounter. The Dubliners are passionate about poker and poker in Ireland seems to be much more than a passion. ”

Dublin is also hosting the Irish Open, the oldest European tournament poker and one of the most anticipated events of the circuit, because of the atmosphere and entertainment.
